Solar PV (photovoltaic) energy generation systems

Designing a new high performance home gives you the opportunity to further reduce your energy bills through the incorporation of a solar PV electricity system.

The team at Enveloped supply and arrange the install high quality, proven performance, PV solar panels (monocrystalline modules) paired with a choice of German designed inverters. The panels are from one of the leading solar photovoltaic manufacturers in the world, backed by a 25 year manufacturers warranty.

The system connects to the grid or you can include battery storage options. Smart technology through your phone, tablet or PC helps you understand what power your home is generating and how you are using it. This means you can manage your use to maximise benefits e.g.: use timers on appliances like washing machines and dishwashers so they are drawing energy at peak generation times. Smart technology also alerts you if there is a problem with your system.

Systems range from around $10,000 to $25,000 depending on what is selected. To help you understand the benefits of generating your own solar electricity check out this handy government website https://tools.genless.govt.nz/individuals/solar-tool/

A PV solar system needs to be included as part of the building consent process so it is best to talk to the team at Enveloped at the start of your house design.
