High-performance airtightness systems ​

An airtight thermal envelope is a key feature of high-performance buildings around the world. NZ building code insulation levels for houses are under review and it is acknowledged that increasing insulation levels will increase the significance of heat losses from air infiltration and ventilation. The next step in improving the performance of New Zealand construction is addressing unintended air leakage. Minimising the uncontrolled movement of air through gaps and cracks in the floor, wall and roof construction, along with appropriate ventilation systems, will help to ensure thermal insulation performs resulting in warmer, drier, healthier, more energy efficient buildings all year round.

Advanced airtightness products such as INTELLO PLUS® by Pro Clima not only control air movement, they also control the transfer of moisture through your building envelope protecting the building structure. This improves the thermal performance of the home and, when used in conjunction with other systems like balanced heat-exchange  ventilation systems, assists in improving indoor air-quality and reducing or eliminating the chance of condensation and mould.
