About Enveloped
Enveloped provides solutions for high performance building. We supply, or supply and install a wide range of materials and systems focusing on improving the performance of construction. Primarily sourced from Germany, our solutions are suited for both retrofit and new build, residential and commercial jobs. They are ideal for projects targeting certified Passive House and/or Homestar builds.
With directors who have built their own Certified Passive House and 10 Star Homestar home, and a team experienced in the building industry, they understand the process you go through and the challenges you face as you work towards creating a high quality, high performance home for your family.
With years of experience in high-performance homes we understand the complexities of these projects as well as the importance of proper sequencing. Have a look through our projects, see what our customers have to say and feel free to make contact to discuss your job.

Why are we passionate about high performance homes?
The current New Zealand Building Code standards for thermal performance were set in 2008 and lag behind many other parts of the world with similar climate zones. As we increase thermal insulation product levels, it is important to focus on the performance of other parts of the thermal envelope of a home (see figure for typical heat losses in winter for a standalone home insulated to current requirements. Source: Consultation document - Building Code update 2021). So we also need to pay attention to the window and door performance, and controlling air leakage and ventilation. Overall, increasing performance levels will help create warm, comfortable homes that are energy efficient and reduce emissions.
Associations and memberships
New Zealand Green Building Council Why do we think this is important? Green buildings make more efficient use of resources such as energy and water, and provide healthier environments for people to live and work in. Green building practices can also reduce construction and operational costs. Homestar is an independent tool from the New Zealand Green Building Council that rates a home’s performance and environmental impact. A 10 Homestar rating recognises world leading standards for design, construction and efficiency in operation. Passive House Institute The Passive House Institute NZ (PHINZ) is on a mission to close the gap between the desired and actual performance of buildings and to accelerate the delivery of measurable and continuous improvements in their indoor environmental quality in tandem with their energy-efficiency. They provide comprehensive advice and information for new home builders. One of our Directors is a founding board trustee of PHINZ, and we actively support their goals. German-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce The home of the original German Passiv Haus, our membership of the German-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce helps us keep up with emerging European trends. The Chamber is uniquely positioned to connect and engage New Zealand and German businesses, and individuals, through an increasingly competitive global market environment.
